AUTOMOTIVE GENERAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented automotive professional to join our team and support a wide range of general maintenance and repair services. In this role, you will help keep vehicles operating safely and efficiently by performing routine inspections, maintenance tasks, and basic repair work in a fast-paced service environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, follows safety standards, and delivers excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, filter replacements, and battery inspections.
  • Inspect vehicles to identify needed repairs, wear items, and potential safety concerns.
  • Assist with brake service, suspension checks, belts, hoses, and other general repair tasks as needed.
  • Mount, balance, repair, and replace tires according to service requirements.
  • Conduct basic diagnostics using approved tools and procedures to support accurate repairs.
  • Document services performed and communicate findings clearly to service advisors or team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all shop policies and procedures.
  • Use tools and equipment properly and report any issues, hazards, or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Support teammates and contribute to an efficient workflow and positive shop environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in automotive service, maintenance, or repair preferred.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle systems, general maintenance procedures, and shop safety practices.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work accurately.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with team members and customers.
  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and technical guidance.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and work around vehicles and equipment throughout the day.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required, depending on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive service certifications or manufacturer training.
  • Experience in a dealership, independent repair shop, or quick-service environment.
  • Familiarity with digital inspection systems or service documentation tools.
